The Property

Built before the Second World War and situated within the Urban Conservation Area of Senglea.

Dar Isla is a clever mix of classic and contemporary design.

Thoughtfully renovated to the highest standards by an Italian Architect, it is a stylish and practical home with a distinctly retro feel that blends with the charm of the Mediterranean.

Adorned with a traditional closed wooden Maltese balcony and unquestionably beautiful Maltese tiles, this apartment offers maximum comfort to visitors with authentic and traditional features of Maltese architecture.

Situated in a quaint street Dar Isla has its own private entrance leading to the welcoming Turquoise hall. Authentic and old-style Maltese busses numbers adorn the walls of the staircase that leads to the first floor.

On the first floor, visitors are greeted by a stylish living area. Complete with a TV unit and a double bed sofa, the subtle industrial feel of this space complement the geometric diagonal traditional tiles.

A separate kitchen and dining area offers a mix of contemporary and classic styles with functionality as the key element. Notable features include a lava rock work surface, an integrated drinks cooler, and a dishwasher. Beyond the kitchen, a closed balcony enjoys an abundance of natural light and is the perfect spot where to enjoy a coffee in the morning or a drink at night. The oak dining suite has a distinct French influence and offers a comfortable setting. The separate bedroom makes its own style statement with the use of natural wood and vintage features. Also found on the first floor is a restroom. The main bathroom is located in the basement and with its simple white ceramics and chrome fittings oozing a distinct 1950s look. A small laundry room is also located here.

Dar Isla is a comfortable, stylish, and functional home that successfully retains the character of the original house. It is situated within walking distance from the buzzing waterfront of Senglea, where one can find restaurants, admire views of Birgu waterfront or take a water taxis connection to visit the capital city of Valletta.
